SYFY brought its popular group of magicians to New York Comic-Con this year, promoting the series before the big premiere of Season 4 on January 23rd. The producers, along with select members of the team, came out to meet with fans and discuss the series, and SYFY shared the following trailer to get fans excited for the new episodes. “The Magicians” is just one-part of SYFY‘s gigantic NYCC celebration, which also includes “Nightflyers,” “Krypton,” “Happy” and others. You can find a list of the activities and panels that SYFY will be hosting this year right here on our site, and expect a lot more trailers over the next two-days.

The show itself is based on the best-selling novels by Lev Grossman. SYFY’s “The Magicians” centers on Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) and his 20-something friends as they discover their magical abilities and ward off evil creatures who threaten to destroy the magical world they’ve come to know.

Last season, our core group found themselves navigating the enchanted, unpredictable world of Fillory and were thrust into an even more perilous, dark and twisted journey to save magic. In their ultimate moment of heroism, these novice magicians devised a plan to eliminate an evil god but in doing so turned off magic forever. Thus begins Season 3’s epic quest to bring back magic.

“The Magicians” stars Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy, Jade Tailor and newly minted series regulars Brittany Curran and Trevor Einhorn. The series is executive produced by John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Chris Fisher and Groundswell Productions’ Michael London and Janice Williams.
