With the teaser trailers out of the way, Lionsgate released the first official full-length trailer for “Robin Hood” today. The film is set to hit theaters later this fall and will feature Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, and Jamie Dornan. Fans of Egerton can watch the trailer of the film below, which was released just a few days after Egerton’s new ‘Rocketman‘ trailer.
The official release date for “Robin Hood” is November 21st, but the film is releasing against some heavy hitters that month. Other films set to release in November are Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” Sony’s “The Girl in the Spider’s Web,” “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch,” Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” “Creed 2,” and Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.”
As for “Robin Hood,” the film was directed by Otto Bathurst, working from a screenplay written by Ben Chandler and David James Kelly. In the film Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) is a war-hardened Crusader joined with his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx). The duo mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown, and will feature a ton of gritty battlefield exploits, fight choreography, and a timeless romance for added appeal.
Egerton is best known for his role as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in the “Kingsman” franchise. Those films have done very well in theaters, the first installment made over $128M domestically and over $414M worldwide. Egerton returned for the sequel last year, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” which brought in over $100M domestically and over $410M worldwide.
