Gal Gadot is jumping from the mythical home Themyscira to the depth of Africa. The popular actor is the most recent addition to the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s “Death on the Nile,” which is the next installment in the growing list of Agatha Christie reboots. Last year Branagh directed Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” which saw a $28M opening before going on to make over $352M worldwide. The original had a star-studded cast, which included Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penélope Cruz, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, and Leslie Odom, Jr. Th ending of “Murder on the Orient Express” set up the sequel, which seems to have been planned from the start.

Currently, the most popular film adaptation of “Death on the Nile” was released back in 1978. The film was directed by John Guillermin and starred Peter Ustinov, Mia Farrow, Bette Davis, Simon MacCorkindale, Jon Finch, Olivia Hussey, Jane Birkin, Lois Chiles, Angela Lansbury, Maggie Smith, Jack Warden, and Harry Andrews. Deadline was the first to report that Gadot will be joining the cast, taking on the role of Linnet Ridgeway Doyle, which was played by Lois Chiles in the 1978 version.

Once again, Kenneth Branagh will direct the adaptation of the popular novel for FOX and he is expected to star as Hercule Poirot. Gadot is the first in a long-list of popular actors that are sure to be attached to the film over the next few weeks but we will have to wait for the confirmations.

Fans of Gal Gadot can hear here voice in the upcoming animated-comedy “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” she will be voicing the role of Shank in that film. Gadot will also be returning as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman for the highly anticipated sequel “Wonder Woman 1984”. The original “Wonder Woman” released back in 2017 and made over $821M worldwide. Another action film, “Red Notice,” is also in pre-production and Gadot fans should keep it on their radar. In that project Gadot will star with Dwayne Johnson under the direction of Rawson Marshall Thurber. Kornél Mundruczó, working with writer Max Landis, will direct an upcoming thriller starring Galdot and Bradley Cooper called “Deeper”.
