“Captain Marvel” may be the next big Marvel MCU installment on the horizon but Marvel has so much more to offer for fans at NYCC. This year the company is coming to New York Comic Con with a massive line-up of panels, and fan events, not to mention free swag for lucky attendees. There will be first-look videos, signings, and incredible experiences at a number of Marvel booths across the floor and we have the schedule to keep you stuffed with Marvel all weekend. The festivities begin on Thursday, October 4th and run through Sunday, October 7th.
First of all, there will be posters that Marvel will be handing out throughout the weekend, which includes Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel Rising, The Gifted, and Marvel’s Runaways, so be on the lookout. Fans will also find comic variants and lithographs from Marvel Comics’ panels and a Marvel Knights 20th Anniversary and Marvel’s Young Guns signing.
On Thursday, October 4th the “Marvel: Making Comics The Marvel Way” panel kicks off at the Javits Center in Room 1A24. Marvel editors and guests take you behind-the-scenes and show you how a Marvel comic book is made. Fans can learn about every aspect of production including writing, penciling, inking, coloring, lettering, editing, and more – with creators on hand to offer personal insights and anecdotes.
On Friday, October 5th, there will be a number of panels. “Marvel: This Week In Marvel” will be held in the Javits Center – Room 1A10, Marvel’s longest-running weekly podcast makes its NYCC panel debut this year and you can join co-hosts Ryan “Agent M” Penagos and Jamie “Hasn’t Picked a Super Hero Name Yet” Frevele as they talk with Mike Drucker, Jesse Falcon, comedian Sara Benincasa and more special guests about their Marvel origin stories, favorite story arcs, and more in this very special live episode of the This Week in Marvel podcast. Expect surprise guests, secrets, and giveaways.
“Marvel’s Runaways” will be hitting Madison Square Garden for the very first time, with an action-packed panel, Q&A and never-before-seen-footage. Join Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, along with the cast and executive producer, as they let you in on what’s to come for the highly-anticipated Season Two of the Hulu Original Series, Marvel’s Runaways. We should remind you that all 13 episodes of Marvel’s Runaways Season Two will drop on December 21, 2018, only on Hulu.
Look for “Marvel: Cup O’Joe – Marvel Knights 20th Anniversary” at the Javits Center – Room 1A10, to join Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti, Christopher Priest, and Tom Sniegoski as they reflect on the industry-redefining MARVEL KNIGHTS imprint as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. What was it like to pioneer this bold new storytelling style for Marvel’s heroes, and how has it impacted Marvel comics, movies, and television series over the last two decades? Learn about all this and more at this must-attend retrospective – and bring your own burning questions!
“Marvel Comics: Spider-Man” is at the Javits Center – Room 1A10, and Editor Nick Lowe does whatever a moderator can along with Spider-Writers Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), Seanan McGuire (Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider), and Nick Spencer (Amazing Spider-Man). Fans will learn the latest about the multiversal mega-crossover Spider-Geddon and Miles Morales news will arrive just in time.
Then on Saturday, October 6th you can expect another lineup of panels and events. “Marvel Fanfare With C.B. Cebulski” is at the Javits Center – Room 1A10, giving fans a chance to meet the new head of editorial at Marvel. In an exclusive one-on-one interview, freshly-minted Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski will talk about anything and everything involved in what’s next for Marvel. There will also be an exclusive panel giveaway – a Tony Stark: Iron Man #5 variant comic.
One of the biggest panels will be “Marvel’s Daredevil” at Madison Square Garden. Join the series’ stars Charlie Cox, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D’Onofrio, Joanne Whalley, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, series showrunner, Erik Oleson and Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb for what promises to be an epic panel full of surprise reveals.
“Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing” will be at the Javits Center, Main Stage 1D, and Editor-in-Chief CB Cebulski can’t wait to talk to you about what’s in store for Marvel Comics. Jason Aaron (Avengers, Conan the Barbarian), Donny Cates (Guardians of the Galaxy), Gerry Duggan (Infinity Wars), and Dan Slott (Fantastic Four, Tony Stark: Iron Man) have incredible new stories in store for your favorite characters, and this is the place to hear about them first. This will also have an exclusive panel giveaway – a Cosmic Ghost Rider #4 variant comic.
Then there’s “Marvel: True Believers” at the Javits Center – Room 1A24. Fans can join Executive Editor Nick Lowe along with other Marvel Guests including Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk), Kyle Higgins (Winter Soldier), and Daniel Kibblesmith (Black Panther vs. Deadpool) for a private panel discussion of what’s happening inside the Marvel Universe. If you want to catch “Marvel Animation Presents: Marvel Rising” hit the Javits Center – Room 1A06, join Cort Lane (Marvel’s SVP Animation & Family Entertainment) and Sana Amanat (Marvel’s VP, Content and Character Development) as well as our Inferno Tyler Posey, our America Chavez Cierra Ramirez, our Squirrel Girl Milana Vayntrub, our Ms. Marvel Kathreen Khavari, and our Patriot Kamil McFadden to talk all things Marvel Rising! This action-packed panel will showcase the brand-new animated film Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors as well as special announcements, first looks, and so much more. Panel will be moderated by Lorraine Cink.
On Sunday, October 7th the party continues with “Marvel Comics: X-Men” at the Javits Center – Room 1A10. Editor X the X-Treme (AKA Jordan White) is joined by talents Ed Brisson (Dead Man Logan, Uncanny X-Men), Sina Grace (Iceman), Matthew Rosenberg (Uncanny X-Men), Charles Soule (Return of Wolverine), and Leah Williams (X-Men Black) for a fun-filled forum. Later that day is the “Marvel: Women Of Marvel” panel in the Javits Center – Room 1A06. Women of Marvel co-hosts Judy Stephens and Sana Amanat are joined by Marvel creators to talk mentorship, their paths to Marvel, and looking to the future of Marvel comics. Panelists include Margaret Stohl (Writer, Life of Captain Marvel), Leah Williams (Writer, X-Men: Gold Annual, Domino Annual), Jen Bartel (Artist, The Mighty Thor: At The Gates Of Valhalla), Rachelle Rosenberg (Colorist, Uncanny X-Men, Marvel Rising), and Kathleen Wisneski (Assistant Editor).
That same day is “The Gifted” panel at the Javits Center – Main Stage. Season 2 of The Gifted picks up six months after the explosion of the Atlanta Station. The Mutant Underground search for their friends and family who left with The Inner Circle. Having tracked them outside of Washington, D.C., they must contend with new groups with extreme ideologies, both human and mutant alike, to stave off a brewing conflict.
