‘Creed II’ Trailer Follows Michael B. Jordan Outside the Ring
Creed in the fight of his life
MGM has released a new trailer for “Creed,” teasing a maxed-out Creed running through his workout in preparation for his fight with the Dragos. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 21st but you can get a preview of the film thanks to the trailer below. This marks the second trailer released for the highly-anticipated sequel.
The new installment was directed by Steven Caple Jr., working from a script written by Sylvester Stallone. The film stars Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris, Andre Ward, Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu, Dolph Lundgren, and Russell Hornsby.
The original “Creed” opened in third-place in theaters back in 2015, loosing out to “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” and Disney’s “The Good Dinosaur”. Despite the slow start, “Creed” had a $29M opening weekend and made over $173M worldwide. The financial success of the film, and the numerous nominations for awards from The Academy, BET, Teen Choice, and MTV Awards, earned the film a quick sequel order.
The studio teased the story stating, “Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family.” The studio added, “Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”
