‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Gets Another Trailer
One more for the Wreck-It team
With only a few more weeks before the film’s big debut in theaters, Disney released a final trailer for “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” filled with more internet references and memes. The big sequel will bring back most of the original film’s voice-cast, only this time the characters are breaking out of the arcade and logging on to the internet.
The official premiere date for “Ralph Breaks the Internet” is November 21, putting the film’s debut one-week after “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” and the same weekend as “Creed 2,” “Green Book, “Robin Hood,” and “Second Act”. It will be a busy weekend at the box-office and Ralph will want to smash it.
In the film Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must travel into the unknown world of the internet in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. The studio teases the film stating, “In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way, including Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race.”
The new installment was directed by Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” writer, “Cedar Rapids”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt,” “Lilo & Stitch”).
The original “Wreck-It Ralph” was an instant smash-hit for Walt Disney Pictures. The film opened with a $49M debut back in 2012 and made over $189M domestically before grossing over $471M worldwide. If everything goes according to plan, there will probably be a “Wreck-It Ralph” trilogy installment but we will have to wait and see how the follow-up film preforms this fall.
“Ralph Breaks the Internet” hits theaters on November 21, 2018.
