‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ Goes Digital in October
A comedy for the fall
The comedic spy-thriller “The Spy Who Dumped Me” will release on Digital HD on October 16th, with the 4K UHD Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital), Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital), DVD, and On Demand versions releasing on October 30th.
Directed by Susanna Fogel and written by Fogel & David Iserson, “The Spy Who Dumped Me” stars Golden Globe nominee Mila Kunis and Emmy Award winner Kate McKinnon. Also starring in the film are Justin Theroux (The Girl on the Train, TV’s “The Leftovers”), Hasan Minhaj (TV’s “The Daily Show”), and Sam Heughan (TV’s “Outlander”). The film did well in theaters, opening in third-place overall back in August with a $12M debut behind “Mission Impossible Fallout” and “Disney’s Christopher Robin”. The film made over $33M domestically and over $63M worldwide.
In the film Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon) are two thirty-year-old best friends living in Los Angeles. The duo are thrust unexpectedly into an international conspiracy when Audrey’s ex-boyfriend shows up at their apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail. The duo jump into action, on the run throughout Europe from assassins and a suspicious-but-charming British agent, as they hatch a plan to save the world.
The film should be a nice break from the traditional Halloween thrillers that people normally stream leading up to end the of October.
Fans of Mila Kunis will hear her voice in the upcoming animated-comedy “Wonder Park,” along with Brianna Denski, Jennifer Garner, Ken Hudson Campbell, Kenan Thompson, John Oliver, and Ken Jeong. Kate McKinnon is expected to play Grunhilda in the upcoming adaptation of “The Lunch Witch”.
