‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’ Scores A Second Trailer
Another look at The Girl in the Spider’s Web
Sony Pictures has released a second trailer for “The Girl in the Spider’s Web,” the new thriller is set to hit theaters this November. If you’re a longtime fan of the series you can watch the new trailer below, the film is officially launching in theaters on November 9th. This is the second official trailer released for the film.
The new installment stars Claire Foy, Sverrir Gudnason, Lakeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks, Stephen Merchant, Claes Bang, Christopher Convery, Synnøve Macody Lund, and Vicky Krieps; the film itself was directed by Fede Alvarez. In the story, Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed Millennium book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller.
Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of “The Crown,” will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016’s breakout thriller “Don’t Breathe;” the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu. Fans of the genre can watch the first official trailer below, and set a reminder to watch the film this fall.
A November release date puts the film up for awards, but it won’t be an easy month to conquer the box-office. “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” will open against Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch,” so it could easily win the box-office with adult audiences, but it will be sandwiched between some heavy-hitters. The previous weekend is the release of “Bohemian Rhapsody” with Rami Malek and Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” with Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman, and Helen Mirren. The following weekend is the release of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” with Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, and Ezra Miller; and “Widows,” with Viola Davis. Other big releases scheduled for November include “Creed 2” with Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Sylvester Stallone; Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2;” “Robin Hood” with Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, and Jamie Dornan; and “Escape Room” with Deborah Ann Woll and Tyler Labine.
