The CW released a new super-sized trailer for “Supergirl” this afternoon, teasing Season 4 ahead of the show’s big October premiere. DC fans have “Supergirl,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Black Lighting,” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” to keep them busy over the next year, with “Aquaman” set to hit theaters later this winter.
The official launch date for “Super Girl: Season 4” is October 14th, giving Kara Zor-El a primetime slot on Sunday nights at the CW. The last time we checked in with Supergirl was after her battle with Reign, though she didn’t get a clandestine win over the villain. Things between Supergirl and Lena Luthor ended on a sour note in Season 3, with Luthor starting down a path that will lead her to discovering more about Harun-El. We will most likely see a kind of Siberian clone of Supergirl in the new season, giving Supergirl a tough fight ahead in the new episodes.
The new episodes will also welcome Nicole Maines, playing the role of Dreamer in the new season. Rhona Mitra is also joining the series, taking on the role of Mercy Graves. The addition of Graves means we might get more story lines following the political group against powered humans, and specifically, aliens like Supergirl.
“Supergirl” is based on the DC character, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
October will also be the start of The CW’s new six-night lineup, giving viewers new content to watch almost everyday of the week. The packed fall lineup includes “The Flash” and “Black Lightning;” “Riverdale” and “All American;” the ever popular “Supernatural;” “Dynasty” and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend;” “Supergirl” and the new “Charmed” reboot; “Arrow” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow;” and “Legacies”.
