Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively hit the red-carpet to celebrate the world premiere of their new thriller “A Simple Favor,” the two stars were joined by Director Paul Feig and their fellow co-stars. The adaptation is opening against the new “Predator” reboot this weekend and is kicking off the new fall-schedule at the domestic box-office.

Set to open nationwide, “A Simple Favor” centers around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town. In the film, Stephanie is joined by Emily’s husband Sean (Henry Golding). The two leads hinted at several plot-twists buried within their latest thriller from red-carpet this weekend, assuming you haven’t read the book yet. We won’t spoil any of them for you if haven’t picked up Bell’s popular novel, and the two stars did a great job at keeping the secrets under wraps during the premiere.

“A Simple Favor” stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, the film also features Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart, and Rupert Friend. The film is based on the novel by Darcey Bell. Paul Feig directed the adaptation, working from a screenplay by Jessica Sharzer.

As we mentioned earlier, “A Simple Favor” is releasing against FOX’s “The Predator” reboot. While both big-budget films offer popular actors, they don’t really share the same demographic and both should do well on their shared opening weekend. “The Predator” was written and directed by Shane Black and features Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, Edward James Olmos, and Keegan-Michael Key.

The weekend is also the debut of “White Boy Rick” with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Jason Leigh and “Unbroken: Path to Redemption,” which are getting a limited-release in theaters.

Fans of Kendrick can look forward to her holiday-comedy “Noelle,” from writer and director Marc Lawrence. That film will star Kendrick as Santa’s daughter, along with Bill Hader, and Shirley MacLaine. Blake Lively’s next thriller is already in post production, the film “The Rhythm Section” was directed by Reed Morano and stars Lively, Jude Law, and Sterling K. Brown.
