Disney has started teasing the next chapter in the “Descendants” story. The network released a quick teaser of “Under The Sea: A Descendants Story,” set to launch on the Disney Channel later this month. The big premiere will go live on September 28th, the short-form special will have arch-nemeses Mal and Uma facing-off in an underwater showdown.

Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain will reprise their roles as Mal and Uma for the new special. Immediately following the Disney Channel premiere, “Under the Sea: A Descendants Story” will be available on the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.

In the story, Mal emerges from the shadows of a mystical forest onto a dark coastline where she crosses paths with Dizzy, played by Anna Cathcart. “Descendants 2” stars Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair will appear in their roles of Harry and Gil, respectively, as part of Uma’s wicked pirate gang.

Disney has a certified hit franchise on their hand and the network is giving the people what they want. “Descendants” and “Descendants 2” were #1 Cable Movies in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Of course there’s more “Descendants” on the way, the highly-anticipated trequel “Descendants 3” will premiere in Summer 2019 on Disney Channel.
