It’s Wakanda Forever over on Disney XD next month. The network is getting ready to debut “Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest” on September 23 and released a new trailer for the show.
The network described the story line adding, “When an ancient and mysterious threat rises to destroy Wakanda, Black Panther must cast away old alliances, old rules, and old friends and chart a new course forward for himself and for the people of Wakanda.” Disney XD continued, “With his sister Shuri by his side, Black Panther will decide what kind of king, what kind of Avenger, and what kind of man he will be.”
As for the show itself, it will borrow from themes already made popular in the Avengers cinematic franchise. Throughout the story Black Panther’s loyalty with his superhero comrades will be tested, and he will be torn between being an Avenger and the King of Wakanda.
The Marvel franchise has been a hit on Disney XD over the past few years. The network has “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” and “Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man and the Sinister 6” ready to stream whenever the kids need them. Soon “Marvel’s Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest” will be added to the list, giving Marvel four popular Disney XD shows across the small-screen universe. Those aren’t the only TV-series that Disney has brought to the small screen of course, there’s also “Big Hero 6” on the Disney Channel and Freeform has the incredibly popular series “Cloak & Dagger” from Marvel.
If that’s still not enough Marvel in your life, don’t forget about “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist,” “The Punisher,” “Daredevil,” and the “Defenders” over on Netflix. All of that content should keep the little ones busy on the networks, and teens to adults can stay busy on Netflix over the next year while we wait for the next “Avengers” movie.
