Dakota Johnson Dances with the Darkness in First ‘Suspiria’ Trailer

A mystery awaits you on stage

Luca Guadagnino’s fantasy horror-thriller “Suspiria” released its first trailer this week, the film was written by David Kajganich and features an extensive cast. Starring in the film are Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, Jessica Harper, and Chloë Grace Moretz, the mystery-thriller is set to release in theaters just after Halloween on November 2, 2018 but residents in New York and L.A. can see the film a little early.

The story centers around a world-renowned dance company, one that seems to haunt everyone involved in it. The studio teases the film stating, “A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe’s artistic director (Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Ebersdorf). Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.”

“Suspiria” will hit New York and Los Angeles on October 26th, the film will then expand nationwide on November 2nd. Fans of the genre can watch the first official trailer for the film below, thanks to an early morning upload from Amazon Studios.

This isn’t the only mystery-thriller that Dakota Johnson has been working on, the actor is also starring in the film “Bad Times at the El Royale” from writer and director Drew Goddard. That project also stars Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, and Jeff Bridges. Chloe Grace Moretz recently starred in the gay conversion therapy drama “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” from director Desiree Akhavan. That film released in theaters earlier this month and also featured Steven Hauck and Quinn Shephard.

“Suspiria” will open nationwide against Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” starring Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, and Matthew MacFadyen, the comedy “Nobody’s Fool” with Tiffany Haddish; and the bio-drama “Bohemian Rhapsody” starring Rami Malek, Aidan Gillen, Mike Myers, and Tom Hollander.
