Netflix has added another name to the cast of the sci-fi thriller “What/If,” which is set to premiere on the platform in 2019. This week Netflix confirmed that actor Jane Levy has signed on to the new series, joining Renee Zellweger who is starring in the show.
According to the announcement, Jane Levy (Castle Rock, Suburgatory) will play the role of Lisa in Season 1. Netflix has already ordered 10-episodes of the social thriller series for the first season. As we previously reported, Renée Zellweger will be taking the role of Anne in the show.
Since “Suburgatory” ended in 2014, Jane Levy has been busy with numerous television projects. Levy was part of the “Twin Peaks” revival on Showtime and is currently playing the role of Jackie Torrance in Hulu’s popular “Castle Rock” series. Levy is also set to star in the movie “The Pretenders,” directed by James Franco. That film features Levy, Juno Temple, James Franco, Brian Cox, Dennis Quaid, and Mustafa Shakir.
We don’t have a premiere date other than 2019 for “What/If” but we do know the show explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.
Mike Kelley will serve as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer for “What/If” season one. The series was created by Mike Kelley and further developed into a series by Kelley and his producing partner Melissa Loy and Atlas Entertainment’s Alex Gartner. The list of Executive Producers include Mike Kelley, Melissa Loy (Page Fright); Alex Gartner, Charles Roven (Atlas Entertainment); Robert Zemeckis, and Jack Rapke (Compari Entertainment). Jackie Levine (Compari Entertainment) is serving as Co-Producer.
Hopefully we will get more casting updates over the next few weeks and a few teaser trailers before the new year.
