Hot off the game’s showcase at San Diego Comic-Con, Square Enix has announced that “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” has officially gone gold. The announcement came from Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal and fans on social-media seem very excited to get their hands on the long-awaited follow-up. That’s not all, the pre-order bonuses are ready for you to plunder and there’s a great video showing off the gameplay.

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to get their hands on the new title, “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” is releasing for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC/Steam on September 14, 2018. The game comes with several packages of goodies if you pre-order from authorized retailers. You can find the pre-order details here on Amazon.com. There are also several editions of the game to browse, including a SteelBook Edition for longtime Tomb Raider fans.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must master a deadly jungle, overcome terrifying tombs, and persevere through her darkest hour. The studio teased the game adding, “As she races to save the world from a Maya apocalypse, Lara will forge herself into the Tomb Raider she is destined to be”.

As we teased earlier, Square Enix also released an extensive walk-through of the game this week. The video below is a guide through the lost city of Paititi, one of the locations that Laura will discover in the game. It looks like a lot of the same elements from the original title will be returning in the sequel but now with a larger marketplace, centralized hubs, larger tombs, and unique dialogues and languages to discover. Square Enix described the video below adding, “Home to a civilization untouched by modern culture, explore the largest hub ever found in a Tomb Raider game featuring a bustling city with challenge tombs, side missions, and more!”

Fans of the franchise can watch the video below, though it may make waiting for the game a little harder.
