CBS has set the date and location for the 2019 Grammy Awards. The popular awards show will be returning to Los Angeles this year and will be broadcast LIVE from the Staples Center Sunday, February 10th on CBS. We are sad to see the show leave our lovely New York City home, but we are hoping for a terrific host-pick this year.

We still don’t have the list of nominations yet for the event, the official list for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards will be announced on Wednesday, December 5th. There are 84 categories this year, honoring the best in recordings released between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018.

“We are delighted to host the world’s premier music event back in our hometown and look forward to celebrating the remarkable musical contributions made by songwriters, producers, engineers, mixers and recording artists,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy. “As always, GRAMMY season will kick off with a series of events that showcase various genres of music, educational programs and our charitable initiatives. We look forward to working with our Los Angeles partners to produce some remarkable and unforgettable events.”

“It is exciting that ‘Music’s Biggest Night’ will be back at the Staples Center in the heart of the City of Angels,” said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS Entertainment. “We look forward to showcasing musicians across multiple musical genres on the world’s biggest stage.”

We also don’t know who will be hosting this year’s event but more information on presenters, live acts, and hosting duties will be announced as we get closer to the premiere date. Last year James Corden hosted the awards show, which was held in Madison Square Garden for the first time in 15 years. The event is often streamed online, but the live acts and the red-carpet are usually the most popular moments throughout the night, with the actual awards taking a backseat to the action.
