The official list of Primetime Emmy nominations went out this morning, with Netflix and HBO leading the way once again. A few of the big-hitters this year are HBO’s “Game of Thrones” (which didn’t qualify for last year’s Emmys because of the delayed premiere date), Hulu’s “Handmaid’s Tale,” the NBC mega-hit “This Is Us,” and Netflix’s “The Crown”. Other fan-favorites like Netflix’s “Stranger Things” also made the list, along with Netflix’s “GLOW” and Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”.

One of the toughest races this year with be the Lead Actress in a Drama series category. This year Claire Foy (“The Crown”), Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”), Keri Russell (“The Americans”), and Evan Rachel Wood (“Westworld”) are up for the award, and each of them are the standout star of their series. The Emmy voters can’t really go wrong with any of the choices and it will be interesting to see which of the stars walks home with the award as we head towards the Golden Globes.

This year’s event will be hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che, the “Weekend Update” anchors from NBC’s own “Saturday Night Live” series. The telecast will be executive produced by “SNL” creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels. If you want to set a reminder, the Emmys will air live coast to coast from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, Sept. 17 from 8-11 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. PT) on NBC.
