Krysten Ritter will Direct an Episode of ‘Jessica Jones’ Season 3

The new season can't get here fast enough

Krysten Ritter is putting on the director hat for an episode of “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” the star of the series will direct an episode in the upcoming third-season. The studio shared a picture of Jones sitting behind the camera for a change, still wearing her iconic leather-jacket and torn jeans of course. Marvel released the picture as the studio announced that Ritter will be directing an episode of the popular series, and fans on social-media were filled with support for their favorite heroine.

Marvel and Netflix are currently shooting the third-season of “Jessica Jones” right here in New York City, but we still don’t have a premiere date to share with you at this time. In a confirmation post at Marvel Ritter stated, “I am beyond thrilled to make my directorial debut on Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The entire crew and cast has become family to me, and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to work with our incredible team in this new way. I am so grateful that Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb, Marvel, and Netflix entrusted me to take the reins.”

While there is a still a long wait before Season 3 is ready, fans of Jessica Jones can watch the first two seasons on Netflix.

Netflix also has “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” and “The Defenders” on tap for Marvel fans, but “Jessica Jones” has quickly become one of the fan-favorites on the video-streaming service. Krysten Ritter stars in the series as the titular Jessica Jones, along with Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse.

The previous season moved away from David Tennant’s evil “Killgrave” character, and instead, focused more on Jones’ backstory and family tree. We won’t give away any spoilers, but we are excited to see more of Jones and Trish Walker in the upcoming season. “Jessica Jones” is is executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg, who also serves as showrunner, along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.
