FOX started the day with another trailer for the “Predator” reboot. The big action-thriller is set to hit theaters later this summer and will star Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski. Fans of the hunter can watch the new trailer below, thanks to an early morning upload from the studio. While a reboot, this is the sixth major release in the franchise that features the iconic hunter.
This new installment to the franchise was directed by Shane Black and co-written by Fred Dekker. The studio describes the film, “Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
If you want to set a reminder for the film, “Predator” is scheduled to hit theaters on September 14, 2018. September is usually filled with horror-thrillers hoping to capitalize on the back-to-school crowd and the upcoming Halloween season. This year Warner Bros. Pictures will kickoff the month with the horror-thriller “The Nun,” while Lionsgate releases the thriller “A Simple Favor” with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. A few other big releases that month include “The House With A Clock In Its Walls,” NEON’s “Assassination Nation,” Universal Pictures’ comedy “Night School,” and the animated-comedy “Smallfoot”. It will be interesting to see which of the thrillers takes the box-office, as “IT” was last year’s big winner overall. You can get a great look at the deadly alien assassin below, as well as general look at the Shane Black’s take on the franchise.
