We did not see a peanut stand, or hear a rubber band though
Disney surprised everyone with the first teaser-trailer for Tim Burton’s live-action “Dumbo” this morning. The new live-action adaptation isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until March 2019, but Disney wanted everyone to get a look at the famous pachyderm before “The Incredibles 2” hit theaters this weekend. You can watch the first teaser-trailer below, thanks to the very early upload from Disney.
As we mentioned earlier, the film was Directed by Tim Burton, so a few of his favorite actors are included in the project as well. Disney stated that the all-new live-action adventure “expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight”.
In the film, circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the elephant for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland.
After Dumbo takes the job, he is soon soaring to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets. Disney fans can watch the first teaser-trailer below, which will probably also screen during this weekend’s launch of “Incredibles 2” in theaters. The original “Dumbo’ released way back in 1941.
