Disney released a new trailer for the live-action/CG hybrid film “Disney’s Christopher Robin”. The movie is set to release in theaters nationwide in just a few weeks and this time around Tigger and Piglet made it into the video. Fans of Pooh can set a reminder to see the film on August 3, 2018 and watch the official trailer below.
Disney stated that the new live-action film will follow Adult Christopher Robin, the same young boy who we all saw on adventures with his favorite stuffed animals living in the Hundred Acre Wood. Robin is living in London but he has lost his way and needs Pooh’s help to find a little wonder in his life. Disney teased the film adding, “Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again”.
The film was directed by Marc Forster, working from a screenplay written by by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder. The film is based on characters created by A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard. The producers are Brigham Taylor and Kristin Burr with Renée Wolfe and Jeremy Johns serving as executive producers.
Starring in the live-action adaptation are Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Giles Winslow, Robin’s boss. The film also features the voices of: Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.
“Christopher Robin” is opening against the thriller “The Darkest Minds, and the action-film “Mile 22”. “The Spy Who Dumped Me” is also opening that same weekend.
