Lionsgate Offers a Trailer for the Thriller ‘Down a Dark Hall’

Lionsgate released a first-look trailer for the thriller “Down A Dark Hall,” the film itself is set to hit theaters later this summer. The film is based on the classic gothic YA novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, and will officially release on August 17, 2018. You might know Duncan’s other hit “I Know What You Did Last Summer” if you enjoy the teen-thriller genre, that film featured Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Anne Heche, Freddie Prinze JR. and Ryan Phillippe. “Down a Dark Hall” was produced by Stephenie Meyer, the author of Twilight and The Host.

The supernatural thriller was directed by Rodrigo Cortés (Buried), working from a screenplay by Mike Goldbach and Chris Sparling. Starring in the film are AnnaSophia Robb (Soul Surfer, The Carrie Diaries), Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf), Noah Silver (The Tribes of Palos Verdes), Taylor Russell (TV’s Falling Skies), Rosie Day (Outlander), and Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Vols. I & II).

The film follows Kit (AnnaSophia Robb), a young girl that has been sent to the mysterious Blackwood Boarding School after her temper becomes too much for her mother to handle. Once she arrives at Blackwood, Kit encounters eccentric headmistress Madame Duret (Uma Thurman) and meets the school’s only other students, four young women also headed down a troubled path. While exploring the labyrinthine corridors of the school, Kit and her classmates discover that Blackwood Manor hides an age-old secret rooted in the paranormal.

Thriller fans can watch the trailer below, if you need to set a reminder, Lionsgate is releasing the film on August 17th.

Also releasing in August are Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” opening with the thriller “The Darkest Minds,” and the action-thriller “Mile 22”. The comedy “The Spy Who Dumped Me” is also opening that same weekend. Later that month, Warner Bros. Pictures is releasing the shark thriller “The Meg” and the romantic-comedy “Crazy Rich Asians“. Sony Pictures is releasing the thrillers “Alpha” and “Slender Man” in theaters during August as well.
