Lucy Hale’s ‘Truth or Dare’ Goes Digital in July
Celebrate America with a little Hale
Blumhouse and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment have set a release date for the thriller “Truth or Dare,” releasing the “Truth or Dare: Unrated Director’s Cut” in early July. The film will hit Digital HD and the Movies Anywhere App on July 3, 2018, with the Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand versions releasing on July 17th.
In the film, a group of friends set out to enjoy their final spring break together when a harmless game of “Truth or Dare” turns deadly. The horror begins when someone (or something) begins to punish those who tell a lie, or refuse the dare. The thriller stars Lucy Hale (“Pretty Little Liars”) and Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”), who lead the cast of friends stuck playing the deadly party game. Produced by Jason Blum (Get Out, Split) and directed and executive produced by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) the horror-thriller follows co-stars Violett Beane (“The Flash”), Nolan Gerard Funk (Counterpart), Hayden Szeto (The Edge of Seventeen) and Sophia Taylor Ali (Famous in Love) as they all have their turn in choosing – Truth or Dare?
The film did very well financially in theaters, thanks to a moderate production budget. “Truth or Dare” opened at number-three on the domestic charts back in April, behind mega-hits “Rampage” and “A Quiet Place,” but still managed to gross over $18M on the film’s debut weekend. “Truth or Dare” then went on to make over $40M domestically and over $76M worldwide. Lucy Hale returned to TV this year to star in The CW series “Life Sentence,” but the show won’t be coming back next season.
