ABC has set a premiere date for “Take Two,” the network’s newest crime-drama starring Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian. The series is schedule to premiere on ABC on June 21st, so make sure to set a reminder if you are a fan of Bilson’s. The show comes from Terri Edda Miller and Andrew W. Marlowe, the creators and executive producers of ABC’s highly popular series “Castle,” and the show will be an upbeat detective series.
The story follows Sam Swift (Rachel Bilson), the former star of a hit cop-series whose epic breakdown is broadcast to the public and sends her to rehab. Desperate to restart her career, she talks her way into shadowing lone-wolf private investigator Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) as research for a potential comeback role. Though Eddie resents the babysitting gig, high-spirited Sam uses the skills she learned as an actor playing a cop and proves herself to be surprisingly valuable. The cast also includes Xavier de Guzman, Aliyah O’Brien and Alice Lee. The show is currently set for one-season, and hopefully it takes off and we can have more Bilson adventures next summer as well.
“Take Two” is created and executive produced by Terri Edda Miller and Andrew W. Marlowe, along with Studiocanal TV’s Rola Bauer and Tandem Productions’ Tim Halkin. The pilot was directed by John Terlesky. “Take Two” is produced by Tandem Productions and MilMar Pictures in co-production with ABC Studios. “Take Two” was co-developed and co-financed by ABC, VOX and France 2.
ABC is also bringing back “Match Game” this summer, as part of the network’s unscripted series. The show will begin Season 3 on the same night as “Take Two” episode one. “Match Game” will once again be hosted by Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Alec Baldwin and is produced by FremantleMedia North America. The panel game features two contestants as they attempt to match the answers of six celebrities in a game of fill-in-the-missing-blank. Baldwin received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Host in 2017.
A fantastic lineup of celebrities are in store this summer including Laverne Cox, David Arquette, James Van Der Beek, Amy Sedaris, Jenifer Lewis, Anthony Anderson, Christina Ricci, ICE-T, Yvette Nicole Brown, Kenan Thompson, Niecy Nash, Tom Lennon, Caroline Rhea, Mark Duplass, Constance Zimmer, Joel McHale, Michael Ealy, Mario Cantone, Adam Pally, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Cheryl Hines, Ellie Kemper, John Early, Donald Faison, Kate Flannery, Nikki Glaser, Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess and Jack McBrayer.
