Harvey Birdman Returns to Adult Swim as Attorney General
Bird is the word, for justice
Harvey Birdman is back from hiatus and is returning to television with a very big promotion. In a stunning announcement, now President Phil Ken Sebben (the eyepatch wearing billionaire voiced by Stephen Colbert on the series) announced that Harvey Birdman will be America’s next Attorney General.
According to Adult Swim, it will be up to Harvey Birdman to find a way to remove President Phil Ken Sebben from office, and everyone gets a red hat to wear to drive the point home. The proceedings are set for this fall at Adult Swim but no official premiere date has been set at this time.
Harvey Birdman will be voiced by Gary Cole, and Stephen Colbert will be returning to his role as Phil Ken Sebben. Other notable characters include Mentok the Mindtaker, voiced by John Michael Higgins, Paget Brewster as Birdgirl, and Chris Edgerly will voice Peter Potamus. X the Eliminator and Black Vulcan will be voiced by Peter MacNicol and Phil LaMarr, respectively.
“This is a great day for our country and for no one else,” said Erik Richter, co-creator of Harvey Birdman. “It’s funny because it’s true. Wait, not funny because it’s true.” said co-creator Michael Ouweleen.
“Harvey Birdman, Attorney General” will be a new half-hour animated special, the series is created and executive produced by Ouweleen and Richter, with Richard Ferguson-Hull and Evan Adler also serving as executive producers. The original series was titled “Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law,” and the show aired on Adult Swim from 2000 through 2007. Despite running for seven years, the show only has four seasons.
We are pretty excited to see Harvey get back into court, and fans should be excited to see the original cast coming back to the show. We will have to wait on a premiere date, and to see the special guests that will be popping into court this year.
