Chris Pratt will be getting a special honor at this year’s “MTV Movie & TV Awards,” the star of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Avengers: Infinity War” will be receiving the Generation Award at this year’s event according to the network. The award show will be hosted by Tiffany Haddish, and will air on June 18th live from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles.

Pratt was one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential People” back in 2017, fans first met Pratt as the character ‘Andy Dwyer’ on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” but most younger-fans know him as the great Star-Lord from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2015 Pratt starred in the rebooted “Jurassic World” franchise, which became the fourth-highest-grossing film of all time. Pratt will return to the role this year when “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” hits theaters on June 22, 2018. Pratt’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” have a combined box-office gross over $1.6B worldwide.

MTV announced the nominees for the “MTV Movie & TV Awards” earlier this month, with hits like Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” and Marvel’s “Black Panther” becoming the fan-favorites for the night.

The Generation Award has been dedicated to showcasing outstanding talent and their noteworthy contributions to film and TV. For over 25 years, the remarkable body of work of recipients speaks directly to a generation of MTV viewers. The award celebrates beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names in the industry. Past recipients of the award include the “Fast & Furious” franchise, Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.

Joel Gallen/Tenth Planet Productions will serve as Executive Producer with MTV’s Amy Doyle, Garrett English and Wendy Plaut for the “2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards.” Rick Austin will also serve as Executive Producer. Vanessa Whitewolf serves as Co-Executive Producer. Melanie Block is Executive in Charge of Production. Amani Duncan is Executive in Charge of Music.
