‘Star Wars Battlefront II’ Plans Han Solo Season for Film’s Debut
Everyone's excited for the new Han Solo movie
EA is celebrating the release of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” with a special Han Solo themed event in “Star Wars Battlefront II”. Players will be able to experience Han Solo as both the scoundrel we all know, and as the hero he turned out to be. All you have to do is follow along with the new Han Solo Season launching next week. May is basically Star Wars month, so you might as well get in on the action before the movie comes out.
The event is scheduled to begin on May 15th, players will take a trip back to the original trilogy before jumping into new content scheduled to launch in June inspired by the upcoming “Solo: A Star Wars Story” film. This month, players will be able to revisit Jabba’s Palace with a new event in Blast, Hero Showdown and Heroes vs. Villains. Players will be able to iron out their differences in the twists and turns of Jabba’s abode while taking on challenges and grabbing XP and unlocks. The new Hero Showdown Mode will be a round-based elimination mode where players will be able to take their favorite duos into two-on-two Heroes vs. Villains battles. You can set Han Solo and Chewbacca vs. Boba Fett and Bossk, or Yoda and Rey vs. Vader and Captain Phasma if you like, there are dozens of choices to be played out. In the game mode, once a round is won, another duo must be picked for the next round.
Of course unlocks are the best part of events, and players will also be able to grab new Appearances (available for Credits or Crystals) inspired by the opening act of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi”. This includes Lando Calrissian looking scruffy in his Skiff Guard disguise, and Leia Organa donning the bounty hunter Boushh’s gear (featuring brand-new voice-over just for the occasion).
If you prefer Starfighter Custom Arcade, EA is adding a Custom Arcade mode to Star Wars Battlefront II at the request of players. Fans can hone their flying skills in the cockpit with Starfighters from all eras, whether the goal is to turn Rebellion X-Wings into stardust with a TIE/LN or hop into the Millennium Falcon to fly circles around enemy starfighters.
