Netflix Adds “Another Life” Sci-Fi Drama with Katee Sackhoff
More content scheduled for Netflix
A new sci-fi drama is coming to Netflix and it will be called “Another Life”. The popular video-streaming service confirmed the series today, but a premiere date hasn’t been settled just yet.
Netflix has ordered ten episodes of the series, which will star Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica). In the series Sackhoff will play an astronaut on a mission to explore alien intelligence.
Astronaut Niko Breckenridge (Katee Sackhoff) will lead a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As she and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.
The series comes from writer/creator Aaron Martin (Slasher, Saving Hope, Degrassi: The Next Generation). “Another Life” will be Executive Produced by Noreen Halpern (Alias Grace, Rookie Blue, Haven).
The new series wasn’t the only announcement from Netflix today. Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will be bringing three Netflix projects to the platform. The deal includes a multi-cam comedy series and two stand-up comedy specials.
In the multi-cam comedy series, Mr. Iglesias, Iglesias plays a good-natured public high school teacher who works at his alma mater. He takes on teaching gifted but misfit kids to not only save them from being “counseled out” by a bully bureaucrat Assistant Principal, but also to help them unlock their full potential.
Mr. Iglesias consists of ten, half-hour episodes and is produced by Netflix, with Iglesias serving as executive producer, along with Kevin Hench (Cristela, Last Man Standing).
The first of two stand-up comedy specials will be taped during Iglesias’ current world tour “One Show Fits All,” and the second on a future date.
Said Iglesias, “When I was a kid, I wanted to be either a stand-up comedian or a teacher. Thanks to Netflix for supporting both of my career aspirations.”
