Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time” will release on Digital HD this May, with a physical release set for June. The film was release in theaters more than 50 years after Madeleine L’Engle’s young adult novel of the same name was awarded the Newbery Medal, and you’ll be able to stream it this summer. The YA adaptation had an impressive cast including Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Pena, David Oyelowo, and Will McCormack.

You can pre-order the Digital HD version on iTunes, Amazon Video, and Google Play, the Blu-ray UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD versions of the film will eventually be available through sites like Amazon.com.

The official release date for the Digital version of the film will be on May 29th, the retail versions of the film will hit stores on June 5th. The adaptation follows one girl’s extraordinary adventure through time and space, offering a positive message encouraging self-confidence, inclusion and imagination.

In the film three celestial guides, Mrs. Which (two-time Academy Award nominee Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Whatsit (Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Reese Witherspoon) and Mrs. Who (Emmy nominee Mindy Kaling), come to Earth to share their wisdom and love with struggling eighth-grader Meg Murry (Storm Reid) as she journeys across dimensions with classmate Calvin (Levi Miller) and younger brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe) in search of her father (Chris Pine), a world-renowned physicist who mysteriously disappeared four years ago.

“This is a story about belonging,” said DuVernay. “It’s about a girl who just doesn’t feel strong in her mind, body and spirit. But through this epic journey, she finds her strength and learns that the center of the universe starts inside her. It’s about Meg feeling like she belongs in the universe and has a mighty part to play… as do we all.”

The film did well at the box-office, but suffered due to the amazing debut of Disney’s other film, “Black Panther”. “A Wrinkle in Time” debuted in second-place on opening weekend with a $33M debut, the film went on to make over $122M worldwide.
