Netflix is sticking with “Alex & Kate” for another season. The popular streaming service announced today that the series will return for a second season, but stopped short of confirming a release window. Netflix also confirmed a new animated-series, which is launching this year.

As for “Alex & Kate,” the series stars Paris Berelc, Isabel May, Tiffani Thiessen, Emery Kelly, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, and Finn Carr. The show original premiered on Netflix back on March 23, and the first season is available if you haven’t caught up yet.

If you are new to show, Alexa & Katie is Netflix’s first fully produced tween sitcom. The comedy is a heartwarming show about two best friends eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. Despite the fact that Alexa (Paris Berelc – Mighty Med, Lab Rats: Elite Force) is undergoing cancer treatment, her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for life never falter, especially with her loyal and awkwardly adorable best friend Katie (newcomer Isabel May) by her side. At times they’re left feeling like outsiders, during a period when what seems to matter most is fitting in. Tiffani Thiessen (White Collar, Saved By The Bell) also stars as Lori, Alexa’s determined and protective mother. Created and executive produced by Heather Wordham (Hannah Montana, Reba), the show’s star is Alexa and Katie’s friendship; whether it be at school, at home, or in the hospital, they are by each other’s side through thick and thin, serving as role models for modern-day female friendships.

Netflix also announced a new animated-comedy series called “Paradise, P.D.,” from the creators of “Brickleberry”. The animated adult-comedy will have ten, thirty-minute episodes in its first season, and will launch on Netflix later this year.

Netflix describes the series adding, “They’re bad cops. Not bad like no nonsense. Not bad like cool. Bad like sh—. Paradise PD: They’re the worst responders.”

The series features the voice-talents of Dana Snyder (Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies), Cedric Yarbrough (Speechless), Dave Herman (Brickleberry, Bob’s Burgers), Tom Kenny (Spongebob. Legendary voice actor), Sarah Chalke (Roseanne, Scrubs, Rick & Morty), Kyle Kinane (The Standups), and Dana Snyder (Aqua Teen Hunger Force).
