Soon the wait will be over, and Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available on the PS4. Developed by Insomniac Games, the new Spider-Man installment now has an official release date, and it will be available on the PS4 in several web-tastic editions.

The official launch date for “Marvel’s Spider-Man” will be on September 7, 2018. The game is currently an exclusive for the PlayStation 4 system, so Xbox One and PC gamers will just have to wait this one out for now. James Stevenson, the Community Director for Insomniac Games told fans today, “It’s been an incredible experience for us to spend the last few years working on this game. From getting to create our own unique universe and story for our favorite Super Hero, to working with our talented collaborators at PlayStation and Marvel Games, to developing relationships with the Spider-Man and Marvel fan communities (#SpideySquad represent!), it’s been an amazing journey thus far.”

As we mentioned earlier, the game will have several editions for fans to choose from. The standard edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available both digitally and in retail versions for $59.99. If you want a few extras, The Digital Deluxe edition of the game will cost $79 and will include a copy of the game, as well as new story chapters with the post-launch DLC series called “Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps”.

That means that the game already has DLC planned, so fans can count on new adventures and expansion in the future. James Stevenson stated that post-launch, fans can already count on “three new chapters each with new missions, new villains and characters, and additional suits for Spider-Man”. Anyone that pre-orders the Digital Deluxe edition will also receive by mail a limited edition collectible pin (only available to residents of US and Canada) featuring Spider-Man.

You can find pre-order info in the video below, and you can grab the goodies that come with them on sites like Amazon.com.

The fanciest of editions is The Collector’s Edition, which will cost $149 while supplies last. The Collector’s Edition includes all of the digital content from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a Steelbook case featuring white spider, Mini Artbook from Titan Books, and a Marvel’s Spider-Man statue by Gentle Giant. Pre-ordering any edition gets you extras as well, including a Spidey-Suit Pack featuring Spider-Punk, as well as a couple suits that will be revealed this summer. You can also get the Spider-Drone gadget, a PSN avatar, an original PS4 theme designed by comic book artist Adi Granov, and some extra skill points to unlock faster web-swinging.
