The “Deadpool 2” trailer is finally out, prepping the world for the return of everyone’s favorite Merc with a mouth later this summer. The film is set to hit theaters in May, but you can get an early look at the sequel thanks to the video below.
The film is the long-awaited follow up to the hit “Deadpool” released back in 2016. The original film was a runaway success for FOX that year, bringing in over $132M on the film’s opening weekend. The comedy-adventurer went on to make over $363M domestically, and over $783M worldwide.
“Deadpool 2” was directed by David Leitch, the film features Morena Baccarin, Josh Brolin, and Ryan Reynolds.
The studio teases the film adding, “After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste.” FOX continues, “Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”
“Deadpool 2” won’t have too much competition on opening weekend, the film is set to share the box-office with the ensemble comedy-drama “Book Club” with Jane Fonda, Alicia Silverstone, Mary Steenburgen, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, Candice Bergen, Richard Dreyfuss and Craig T. Nelson, and the family-comedy “Show Dogs” with Will Arnett, Natasha Lyonne, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Jordin Sparks, Gabriel Iglesias, Shaquille O’Neal, and Stanley Tucci. The big competition will be Deadpool’s follow-up week, when the film takes on “Solo: A Star Wars Story“.
