‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’ set to Release in October
Activision and Treyarch to release COD:BO 4
Activision will release a new “Call of Duty: Block Ops” installment this fall, with a Community Reveal event scheduled for May. The publisher confirmed the new title earlier this morning, with fans on social-media quickly celebrating the return to the top-selling franchise.
While the studio did confirm the reveal and release dates, right now Activision is only describing the new Black Ops title as “a game-changing experience”. Going by the name “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” the game is currently scheduled to release worldwide on Friday, October 12, 2018. The new installment will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
If you are a Call of Duty fan, you will want to set a reminder to tune-in Thursday, May 17, when Activision and Treyarch host the community reveal to a worldwide audience. The teaser site hasn’t launched yet, but you can bet that callofduty.com will have hints and easter-eggs scattered throughout its pages as the game preps to launch.
Treyarch was the same development team behind “Call of Duty: Black Ops,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops III,” so fans should be happy to see that the game is changing hands. While Activision did confirm that the game exists, and that Treyarch would be making it, there haven’t been any confirmations regarding the new story-line. Missing from the list of platforms is the Nintendo Switch, and while there have been a few rumors about the game coming to the popular console, as of right now the port won’t be ready for the Switch at launch – or possibly ever. Activision could be saving that surprise for E3 this Summer, so Nintendo Switch fans still have a small chance of getting the game sometime down the road.

As of right now the only things to do is wait, and catch the worldwide reveal on May 17th during Activision’s big stream-event.
