Netflix released a new trailer for “A Series of Unfortunate Events” Season 2 this morning, previewing the unhappy circumstances that the Baudelaire orphans will find themselves in when the show returns to Netflix later this month.

Netflix teased the new season adding, “No matter how dark it may seem, it can always get worse,” which is consistnant theme in the books that the series is based on. Fans of the show can catch Season 2 of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” when the show returns on March 30th.

If you’re new to the series, the show is based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket and stars Emmy and Tony Award winner Neil Patrick Harris. A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death. If you missed the trailer’s debut this morning, you can watch the video below.

The show has been a hit on Netflix, rebooting the franchise after the 2004 film failed to strike a chord with moviegoers. That film, which was directed by Brad Silberling and featured Jim Carrey, Jude Law, and Meryl Streep, was still a moderate success despite the film’s lukewarm reception with critics. The original film opened at number-one at the box-office with a $30M debut, and made over $209M worldwide.

This week Netflix also set a premiere date for Marvel’s “Luke Cage” season 2, and the video-streaming service is about to release the second-season of “Jessica Jones“. Netflix also confirmed that Priah Ferguson will be a recurring character in the next season of “Stranger Things,” and Maya Hawke will be joining the Stranger Things crew as a new character named “Robin”.
