Twitter Makes it Easier to Save and Share Tweets with Bookmarks
Twitter is upping their sharing game
Twitter is making it a little easier to share and save the Tweets you read from the web and apps. The company is rolling-out a new bookmarking feature, allowing users to save articles, threads, videos, or funny GIFs that appear on timelines. It’s perfect for a “read later” moment on your daily commute, or if you’re putting together a story, or just trying to stay on-top of the latest Twitter beef. It’s all located under one icon, and it’s a pretty great feature.
Along with the new Bookmarks feature, you will also see a “share” icon on every Tweet. You can share Tweets through a Direct Message, or use third-party apps that have adapted the API. You can use the Share icon to bookmark or share, making it a one-stop-shop for all your Twitter needs. It’s a great way to remember to reply to @mentions later, something I’ve been pretty terrible about.
Using the Share Icon is pretty easy, Twitter describes the process stating:
“To bookmark a Tweet, tap the share icon under the Tweet and select, “Add Tweet to Bookmarks”. To find it later, tap “Bookmarks” from your profile icon menu. You can remove Tweets from your Bookmarks at any time. Also, only you can see what you’ve bookmarked. Learn more about how to bookmark in our Help Center.
Bookmarks help people keep up with the best of Twitter. You can save a Tweet with a live morning show like Buzzfeed’s #AM2DM to watch at another time, bookmark a thread from @Lin_Manuel about new Hamilton music to come back to, and save Tweets with links to interesting articles for later reading or sharing. You’ll no doubt show us more creative uses for Bookmarks than we ever imagined! (You have a tendency to do that on Twitter.)”
Twitter also stated that the Bookmark feature is currently rolling out globally on Twitter for iOS and Android, Twitter Lite, and mobile.twitter.com.
