Fortnite Battle Royale’s Season 3 Begins, with a few key Updates
Ready those llamas, Fortnite has a new update
Epic Games’ “Fortnite” is one of the hottest titles on the market and starting today, players can jump into a brand-new season of mayhem. The new update launched on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Mac, and there is also new content and updates for the Co-Op “Save the World” edition. Lots to get through this time around, so start building and break those llamas.
For the Battle Royale fans, today is the start of Season 3, and the studio introduced an all-new Battle Pass which is available to purchase now on all platforms. Players who purchase the Season 3 Battle Pass will instantly unlock a batch of great in-game rewards including the new Mission Specialist Outfit. As they play during the season, players will also be able to unlock a series of reward tiers, unlocking cosmetic items like outfits, pickaxes, emotes, gliders, and other need-to-get items and gear. Epic Games has also introduced new unlocks, and other items like Back Blings (cosmetic-only back gear that players can equip) and Skydiving FX trailers.
The Battle Pass is only part of today’s big update which includes 60 FPS for all console platforms, a new orchestral score, a Hoverboard (once you unlock it via quest) for “Save the World”, and much, much more. You can find all of the details in the patch notes over on the official Fortnite website.
If you haven’t seen the launch trailer for the new update, you can watch that trailer below.
The ‘Lunar New Year’ event is currently going on withing the PvE world. Players can hunt down fireworks for lucky red-envelops, and get more lucky coins to unlock items within the loot store. Players can hunt down hoverboard parts to create their own board, which will let you zip-about the map in style. The mechanics are still a bit wonky, but it’s worth checking out. Also released in this update is the new “painting” building mechanic, which lets you hold down the build-button to place similar building materials with ease.
