20th Century FOX released a new trailer for “Deadpool 2” this week, introducing future moviegoers to Cable. The upcoming Marvel/FOX release was directed by David Leitch, and will feature Morena Baccarin, Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Stefan Kapicic, and Leslie Uggams. Keeping with Deadpool’s off-the-wall humor, the movie’s official site and Youtube channel describes the film/trailer as:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”

The original “Deadpool” film opened in February 2016 but now that the franchise is a certified money-maker, FOX has moved the sequel to become an official summer blockbuster. “Deadpool” opened at number-one when it was released in 2016 after bringing in an amazing $132M during its domestic debut. The film went on to make over $363M domestically in theaters, and over $783M worldwide. Releasing in the summer means more competition, and “Deadpool 2” will have to battle the new “Ocean’s 8” crime-comedy and a few other notable releases to stay at number-one through-out May. Other big-hitters expected to release that month are “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” and “Disney’s The Increadibles 2,” so Deadpool has his work cutout for him.

As for the movie, FOX won’t be releasing “Deadpool 2” until the summer, if you want set a reminder it comes out on May 18, 2018. The film was going to come out in June, but the release date was moved up just a tad with some box-office shuffling earlier this year.
