One of the first trailers to air during the Super Bowl on NBC was for “A Quiet Place,” starring the husband and wife team of John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
With the tagline “If They Hear You, They Hunt You,” the sci-fi thriller is set to open in theaters later this year.
The film itself was directed by John Krasinski, and was produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. The script is based on a story written by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, with a screenplay written by the two-writers and Krasinski.
Joining Blunt and Krasinski in the film are Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds. The trailer is more teaser than anything, but does give a bit of the plot away. We can tell by the short video that our two main characters, and their family, live in an isolated environment, avoiding an unseen threat that seems to detect sound and kill anything that it hears.
Paramount Pictures will release “A Quiet Place” in theaters on April 6, 2018. That puts the film against the comedy “Blockers” with Kathryn Newton, Leslie Mann, and John Cena, as well as the thriller “Chappaquiddick” with Jason Clarke, Kate Mara, Ed Helms, Bruce Dern, Olivia Thirlby, and Jim Gaffigan.
Other big releases that month are the remake of “Overboard” with Eugenio Derbez, Anna Faris, and Eva Longoria, and the teen-thriller “Truth or Dare” with Lucy Hale.
