After Marvel’s star-studded premiere this week, the studio’s “Black Panther” film is charging into the Fandango record books. The new Marvel installment is currently outpacing all superhero movies in the Fandango’s advance ticket sales, even eclipsing 2016’s mega-hit “Batman v Superman.”

The film has been getting rave reviews since the world premiere last Monday, the studio also held the first screenings earlier this week. If you missed the premiere online, Marvel put together a recap of the special event, and you can watch that video below. Cut within the preview are a few scenes from the film, but you won’t find any spoilers. Since the premiere “Black Panther” has been at the top of Fandango’s daily ticket sales, and as of Wednesday morning “Black Panther” is still the #1 daily ticket-seller on Fandango. Not that bad considering that the film doesn’t open in theaters for two more weeks (on Feb. 16) and is going against “50 Shades Freed” this month.

According to a Fandango survey of more than 1,000 “Black Panther” moviegoers, 97% of them are looking forward to “a different kind of superhero movie,” while 95% are looking forward to the film’s “positive messages”. In the same survey, 93% said that they couldn’t wait to see Chadwick Boseman in his own “Black Panther” movie after seeing him in “Captain America: Civil War,” and 86% are excited to see the film’s all-female guards/warriors, the Dora Milaje.

Fandango also pointed out that 85% said they are intrigued by the film’s “exotic setting,” which takes place in the mythical African kingdom of Wakanda, and 84% are particularly excited to see Michael B. Jordan’s performance.

“The buzz on ‘Black Panther’ is electric,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “Early screening audiences say it is one of Marvel’s best movies ever, and the positive word-of-mouth is helping drive the movie’s spectacular advance ticket sales.”

Fandango is offering limited edition “Black Panther” collectible movie gift cards and “Black Panther” merchandise at Fandango FanShop. Fans buying “Black Panther” tickets on Fandango will receive a complimentary “Black Panther” movie poster with every purchase of Black Panther movie tickets, while supplies last.
