The Alienist is an instant hit for TNT, topping Social Media and Streams
Mystery fans need to watch The Alienist
TNT’s “The Alienist” is off to a very strong start on the network, and there’s plenty of time to get caught up before new episode air. The new series scored an impressive launch last Monday night to become cable’s number-one new drama series this season in Live +3 delivery. The series has a strong cast behind it, which no doubt help bolster the show’s big debut, with Daniel Brühl, Dakota Fanning, and Luke Evans starring in the 19th Century mystery-thriller.
According to the network’s announcement, the popular turn-of-the-century murder mystery show has so far reached a cumulative 13.1 million total viewers in telecasts airing last week, nearly half of whom were new to the network. The premiere TNT telecast alone averaged 3.1M total viewers and nearly 1M viewers 18-49 in Live +3, and the network’s Live +35 multiplatform projection is 16 million, making it TNT’s most successful launch event since 2012.
If you haven’t jumped into the series yet, new episodes of The Alienist premiere Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT, so set a reminder and explore a truly unique series. You can watch the teaser for the series premiere that TNT release a few weeks ago, from the network’s official YouTube page.
This year The Alienist beat out 8 new dramas that have already premiered this season to claim the number-one slot for the network. The Alienist premiere was also a record setting digital launch for TNT, generating more than 4 million total minutes watched on TNT’s apps and sites, the most digital views among all TNT series, and sparking more than 10 million social engagements. TNT is calling the new series “2018’s most buzzed about new drama”.
