The hit animated-comedy “Ferdinand” will go digital this month, with the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film to follow shortly after. Ferdinand will launch on Movies Anywhere beginning February 27th, with the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film launching on March 13, 2018.

The home box-office release dates were confirmed just a few days after Ferdinand was nominated for Best Animated Feature for this year’s Academy Awards. “Ferdinand” was one of five films nominated for Best Animated Feature this year, the list also included “The Boss Baby,” “The Breadwinner,” “Coco,” and “Loving Vincent”. As we reported earlier this week, “The Breadwinner” is also releasing digitally over the next few weeks.

The film comes from the creators of Ice Age and Rio, and features a popular voice-cast. The story follows Ferdinand (John Cena), who is a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast and torn from his home, he rallies a misfit team of friends for the ultimate adventure to return to his family. The film was based on the classic children’s book.

The film did very well in theaters, opening at number-two behind “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”. Domestically the animated-comedy made over $79M for FOX, before going on to make over $236M worldwide. Joining Cena in the film are Kate McKinnon, Anthony Anderson, Bobby Cannavale, Peyton Manning, Gina Rodriguez, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, David Tennant, Flula Borg, Jerrod Carmichael, Daveed Diggs, Raúl Esparza, Gabriel Iglesias, Juanes, Boris Kodjoe, Karla Martínez, Jeremy Sisto and Sally Phillips. If you didn’t see any of the trailers for the film, or if you need a reminder of the story or tone, you can watch the official trailer for “Ferdinand” below thanks to an upload from the studio.

You can pre-order the digital version of Ferdinand on Amazon Video iTunes, and Google Play.
