Fans can still see “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” in theaters, but there’s already another Star Wars installment just around the corner. Earlier this week Disney revealed the official plot-synopsis for “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” giving fans the first official facts from the upcoming standalone Star Wars project.
If you’ve been following the casting updates, or if you have seen the pictures that Ron Howard has been releasing from the set on social-media, the official synopsis probably won’t surprise you too much. We know that the young Han Solo will meet his future co-pilot in the new film, and run into a soon to be BFF.
“Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”
Fans will have to wait a few more months to watch all of the details for themselves on the big screen, Disney will release “Solo: A Star Wars Story” on May 25, 2018. Until then you can follow Ron Howard on social-media for more teasers, and wait around for Disney to finally drop the big first-look trailer for the film.
Meanwhile “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is still pulling-in moviegoers around the globe. Following the film’s amazing $220M opening weekend, the Star Wars installment has made over $604M domestically, and almost $1.3B worldwide. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” was directed by Ron Howard, and features Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, and Woody Harrelson. Now get ready for more Millennium Falcon action in May.
