Marvel shows off Ant-Man and the Wasp Costumes
The duo are looking good in the latest still
Marvel teased a new image from “Ant-Man and the Wasp” this week, the summer-sequel is scheduled to hit theaters this July. This marks the first time that Marvel has released a still from the film that shows both title characters in their costumes, which means a teaser-trailer could be a few weeks away (maybe for the Super Bowl?).
The image shows the film’s stars, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, in their costumes as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp. “Ant-Man and the Wasp” will be the long-awaited sequel to the 2015 hit “Ant Man”. The original also starred Paul Rudd and was directed by Peyton Reed, who is returning to direct the sequel for Marvel. The original installment to the franchise opened at number-one at the domestic box-office, making over $57M during its summer debut weekend. The film then went on to make over $180M domestically, and over $519M worldwide in theaters for Marvel.
The last time we checked in with Ant-Man was in “Captain America: Civil War,” and the new film’s story will pick-up after the events of that Marvel installment. The story will have Ant-Man and the Wasp teaming up, taking on a new danger to their families and friends. Starring alongside Rudd and Lilly are Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Hannah John Kamen, Abby Ryder-Forston, and Randall Park. The film will also feature Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas.
The film is being produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, Charles Newirth, and Stan Lee. The screenplay for the film was written by Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers, along with Paul Rudd, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari.
If you need to set a reminder, “Ant-Man and the Wasp” will hit theaters on July 6, 2018. The film will have a lot of competition in theaters, with the next “Purge” installment, “Hotel Transylvania 3,” the horror-thriller “The Nun,” “Alita: Battle Angelm,” and “Mama Mia 2,” “Mission: Impossible 6,” and “Teen Titans Go! to the Movies” also currently scheduled to open in theaters that month.
