IMDb sets Schedule for Sundance Film Festival Events
Four days of BTS action
It’s almost time for the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, but even if you don’t have tickets, you can still keep up with all of the offerings and panels this year with IMDb. The popular site will be attending the event for the fourth year in a row, offering a full schedule of industry events for fans.
Over the course of four days, IMDb will produce its own original celebrity video interviews from The IMDb Studio on Main Street. Filmmaker Kevin Smith and the hosts of The IMDb Show will interview the casts, directors and other creators of the most highly anticipated films of the Sundance Film Festival and the resulting original video interviews will be shared with fans on IMDb.com. You will also find the videos on the company’s mobile apps and IMDb’s social channels. Other highlights include the presentation of an IMDb STARmeter Award to Bill Skarsgård.
“The IMDb team and our customers all over the world are passionate about discovering the next generation of new filmmakers,” said Col Needham, IMDb’s Founder and CEO. “Each year, we look forward to the Sundance Film Festival because it offers a first look at the future of filmmaking. We are thrilled to be amplifying our presence at the Sundance Film Festival this year with the fourth annual IMDb celebrity video and photography studio, a ‘Fan Favorite’ IMDb STARmeter Award for Bill Skarsgård (IMDb’s No. 1 Breakout Star of 2017), and parties to celebrate the launches of The IMDb Show and IMDbPro’s first-ever mobile app. We want fans all over the world to feel as if they have a front row seat throughout the festival, while we explore and celebrate the achievements of many IMDbPro members who are premiering their new films at the 2018 Festival.”
“IMDbPro is so proud that the Sundance Film Festival has once again selected Withoutabox as their exclusive film submission service, and that as a result of this multi-year relationship, we have the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented Festival team to facilitate the discovery of new filmmakers and talent,” said Matt Kumin, Head of IMDbPro. “IMDbPro prides itself on being the essential resource for the entertainment industry and our new iPhone app provides IMDbPro members with on-the-go access to our unrivaled entertainment industry data and tools to help them navigate their business dealings in Park City and wherever they go throughout the year.”
This year’s event will run from January 18th through January 28th, with IMDb offering BTS access from January 18th through January 22nd.
