The new thriller has quite a few young-stars featured, including former “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale, and MTV’s “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey. Also starring in the film are Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto, and Sophia Taylor Ali. Jeff Wadlow directed the film, he also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Reisz, Jillian Jacobs, and Chris Roach. The actual story the film is based on was written by Michael Reisz.
The film is latest from Jason Blum’s ‘Blumhouse Productions,’ the force behind hits like the “Paranormal Activity” franchise; the “Insidious” franchise; “The Purge” franchise; and films like “Happy Death Day,” “Get Out,” “Split,” “Oculus” and “Ouija”. Jeff Wadlow is also the Executive producer on the film. You can watch the first teaser for the film below.
Other films releasing that month are Lionsgate’s “Traffik,” starring Laz Alonso, Omar Epps, Paula Patton, and Roselyn Sanchez. Universal Pictures is also releasing the comedy “Blockers” that month, starring John Cena and Leslie Mann.
Blumhouse has behind some of the biggest horror-thriller franchise over the past decade, and has made summer-thrillers a staple in theaters over the past few years. The production company has several other films on the way in 2018, including “Insidious: The Last Key,” “The Purge: The Island,” and a new “Halloween” installment set to bring back Jamie Lee Curtis. In 2019 the studio is working on releasing “Only You,” “Vengeance,” “Ghoul,” “Seven in Heaven,” “Stephanie,” “The Keeping Hours,” “Delirium,” “Prey,” “Sweetheart,” “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” a sequel to “Unfriended” and another “Spawn” adaptation. All of these titles are horror/thrillers, so fans will have plenty of entertainment to keep them up at night over the next two-years.
