A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 Debuts in March
Count Olaf will be waiting
Netflix has finally set a premiere date for “A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 2,” and will release the follow-up season to the world at the end of March. The series is based on the best selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) and box-sets start at about $28 on Amazon if you want to read the original works.
The second season of the popular Netflix original series will expand the world of the dark-comedy, bringing back your favorite actors. The series is Executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel Handler, and the new season of A Series of Unfortunate Events will consist of ten cinematic one-hour episodes. The premiere date for the new series is the Spring of 2018 (March 30th if you want to set a reminder) and it will premiere exclusively on Netflix.
A hit with fans, the series stars Emmy and Tony Award-winner Neil Patrick Harris, the story recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans (Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) and their extraordinary encounters with the devious Count Olaf who will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. Foiling his many dastardly plans and disguises, the young siblings discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death, links to a covert organization, and begin to unlock long-held family secrets. Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Presley Smith, Patrick Warburton and K. Todd Freeman (among others) return for season two. New additions to the cast include (but are not limited to) Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue and Roger Bart.
Netflix also released a teaser-trailer to get fans excited for the new season, which you can watch below. Earlier this month Netflix confirmed that the video-streaming service has renewed “Dark” for a second season as well. The series was Netflix’s first German original production, and fans should be excited to see it coming back for more episodes. The acclaimed drama created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese has been a huge hit in Germany of course, but also around the world. “Dark” is a family saga with a supernatural twist, and is now one of the most-watched entirely non-English shows on Netflix.
Once again, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” will premiere on Netflix on March 30, 2018.
