Freeform Summit set for January in Los Angeles
All of your Favorites will be there
Freeform will be bringing your series (and probably a lot of your favorite stars) to the network’s annual “Freeform Summit” in Los Angeles this year, offering new announcements and previews into the upcoming seasons. The “Freeform Summit” is a network-wide event that will feature a series of panel discussions addressing activism, social change, representation in television and various other important cultural issues defining modern youth culture today.
This year’s panelists and speakers will include talent, executives, showrunners and directors across multiple Freeform series, all spotlighting the brand new 2018 programming lineup. That lineup includes, but is not limited to, “grown-ish,” “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” “Siren” and “Alone Together”. The network will also spotlight the fan-favorite shows including “The Bold Type,” “The Fosters” and more. The Freeform Summit will also feature key influencers, tastemakers and pop culture titans who are embracing and effecting cultural change through storytelling, mentorship and engagement.
The network described the event adding, “The format of the summit is guided by Freeform’s identity, which continues to set itself apart from other content platforms by delivering stories that celebrate the power, possibility and inclusivity of youth culture – stories that are bold, sophisticated, inspirational, culturally significant and most importantly, on the pulse of young adult life.”
This year Freeform will be showcasing a slate of new scripted original series for 2018 including the highly anticipated new comedies “grown-ish” and “Alone Together,” and the upcoming mermaid thriller “Siren”. Marvel fans will want to read about the new drama “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger,” and long-standing fans of the network will learn more about the current slate including “The Bold Type;” the paranormal thriller “Beyond;” “Famous In Love” starring Bella Thorne; the hit series “The Fosters;” the supernatural phenomenon “Shadowhunters;” and the fan favorite comedy “Young & Hungry.”
