The early showing for Prime members will take place at 7 p.m. local time on December 8 – a full 12 days before the film is released on December 20, 2017.
According to the company, members can purchase up to 10 tickets for the showing at one of more than 1,000 theaters across the country including Regal, ArcLight Cinemas, and National Amusements theaters, plus AMC theaters will be added soon. “We can’t wait to welcome Prime members to the jungle before anyone else,” said Dwayne Johnson. “The game has changed, drawing four players into Jumanji – and now, we’re changing the game again by giving Prime members this exclusive access.”
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. In the brand-new adventure the game has changed as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they decide to play and are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, in the bodies of the avatar characters they chose (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan). What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – Jumanji plays you. To win, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever… Directed by Jake Kasdan, the screenplay is by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner with a screen story by Chris McKenna, based on the book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg. The film is produced by Matt Tolmach and William Teitler.
“Prime members love watching movies, and that’s why we are treating them to something special this holiday season,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President, Amazon Prime. “With this exclusive first look at Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Prime members all over the country can come together to enjoy some well-deserved time with their loved ones and watch the latest adventure from our friends at Sony Pictures.”
In select theaters, Amazon will roll out the Prime ‘blue carpet’ to surprise members with a unique experience. The first members to arrive at the showing early will have the opportunity to get some of the most popular Amazon devices using Prime Now, Amazon’s one and two hour delivery service. Members will also be able to enjoy a Jumanji themed photo booth courtesy of Prime Photos, gift bags with Whole Foods Market Gift Cards, giveaways and more.
If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can still get into the jungle through Fandango, but you’ll just have to wait a little longer.
