Disney and PIXAR finally released a short teaser trailer for “The Incredibles 2” this week, after teasing the popular superhero family on social-media on Friday.

The original animated hit released back in 2004, and the film was written and directed by Brad Bird. The first film in the franchise featured the voice-talents of Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Holly Hunter, and Jason Lee, and many of them are returning for the sequel. Brad Bird is returning to direct the new installment, and will bring back Criag T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson for the new adventure. Longtime PIXAR collaborator John Ratzenberger is expected to join the cast as well.

Back in 2004 “The Incredibles” was a huge hit for Disney. The animated-comedy opened at number-one at the box-office with a $70M weekend, shutting down Paramount’s Jude Law picture ‘Alfie’ at the time. “The Incredibles” went on to make over $261M domestically before grossing over $633M worldwide. You can watch the first trailer for the film below, thanks to an early morning upload from Disney to the company’s YouTube channel.

While fans of the franchise may have waited almost 14 years for the sequel to release a trailer, they will only have to wait a few more months to see the film in theaters. Disney is set release the follow-up in theaters on June 15, 2018.

June is always a big month for movies, and this year the summer month will start with “Deadpool 2” on June 1st, followed by the crime-comedy “Ocean’s 8” on June 8th. “The Incredibles 2” is currently set to open without any major competition that weekend, but “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will open the following weekend in theaters across the country. June is set close with the films “I Feel Pretty,” “Sicario 2: Soldado,” “Tag,” and “Uncle Drew”. The next major animated-release will be in July, when Sony releases “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” in theaters on July 13, 2018.
