Star Wars fans finally know the name of the new Han Solo spinoff film, which will now be going by the name of “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. It seems the phrase ‘A Star Wars Story’ might be the going trend for these spinoffs, since “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” was also a spinoff, and shared the same title.

It was the film’s new director, Ron Howard, that officially revealed the title for the new installment, which up until now fans have been calling ‘The Young Han Solo Movie’. The official video was posted on Twitter mid-afternoon on Tuesday, and the director took the opportunity to say that filming has wrapped on the project, which means the next stop will be edit town.

It was announced earlier this summer that Ron Howard would be finishing the project, stepping in after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were removed from the film. In the new Solo spinoff, Alden Ehrenreich will be taking over the role of Han Solo, stepping into the very big space-boots once filled by Harrison Ford. The film will also feature Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson, and Paul Bettany.

Fans still have a very long wait before “Solo: A Star Wars Story” hits theaters, the film isn’t scheduled to release until May 25, 2018. At least there is “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” to hold us over, which is launching into theaters this December.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will feature Carrie Fisher, the film was shot before her passing, as well as Daisy Ridley, Tom Hardy, Adam Driver, Billie Lourd, Mark Hamill, Gwendoline Christie, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and John Boyega. Episode VIII will be the second installment to the new trilogy, which started with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

“Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi” was written and directed by Rian Johnson and was produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. The film was executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
